I just want to tell you a little about what had been going on in my life at about the time we crossed paths.
I had never been much of a recreational reader. I never really enjoyed it. About a month before we met I passed the Barnes and Noble on my way to the car after Wednesday night sushi at stir-fry and something drew me in. I felt like I needed to find an interesting book to read. I found one entitled God: The Failed Hypothesis. I thought it seemed like an interesting thing to read about. I finished the book in about a week and a half, and I went back and bought a book entitled Atheist Universe. By the time I had finished that book (which was about a week before we met) I had decided that I was an Atheist.
The night I had you guys as my guests, I was a little frustrated that it was getting so late and I had another table. You guys seemed like pretty friendly people at the time so I didn't mind waiting. After we had spoken for some time, I knew there was something about you guys. I couldn't pinpoint it, but I knew it was there. When you guys got up I had seen your book sitting on the table but didn't say anything for some reason. You shook my hand and you told me something I now understand after reading your book. Again, I want to overview what has happend up to the point of the check and the book. I had just begun reading Atheist books. You guys come along and hand me a check for $X00 and a book. Needless to say the moment that happend, I almost instantaneously begun rethinking my spirituality and my life as a whole. I got off work and waited until the next day to begin reading. I finished your book 4 days after that.
For the first time in my life after finishing your book, I feel like there most certainly is a higher power. The impact you and your book has had on me has shown me that the Holy Ghost is in your heart, you just have to find him. For me, it took a "Miracle" to open my heart up to Christ. God saw my situation and knew what I needed to cross over. It's just a highly improbable coincidence for something like that to happen especially to me. I have completely changed my spiritual life.
I had put the check in the bank, and following Sunday after completing your book I attended Uxxxx Baptist Church on Uxxxx Ave. The church is located in a lower class area. I had went by myself because it was the last church I remember going to. During offering, I wrote a check for $X00 and put it in the golden plate. The old woman saw me write the check and announced it in a voice only people around could hear. Her words had caught attention to some people and it made its way to the pastor. The pastor had asked who wrote that check and the woman next to me wasted no time to let him know it was me. He asked me to come up on the steps and announce my name because he had never seen me before. I told them my name was Bo U and that I had a life changing experience. I told them my story, and when I was done I was applauded for at least 3 minutes. It just felt so good to give to others. I have been attending that church regularly for about a month and a week now and I have learned more about myself and what God is capable of doing in lives of humans than I ever thought possible. I have to say, since the day you and I met, I have just felt 110% better about what direction my life is going.
You changed my life.
